This was the day of her birthday. We had reconciled and we went to Arundel. It was a pleasant enough day. We planned to go to the castle but didn't make it. We bought old fashioned cameras, had lunch in a pub, didn't argue, but then when we realised we didn't have enough money left to buy much dinner when we got back to Brighton, then there was some tension.
