So, it was around this time that we moved out. Ed and James moved with Max into a dark long flat on Upper North Street. For a few days I slept on their sofa whilst my girlfriend stayed with other friends. At first she was staying in the bedroom of a French friend in a flat on London Road. It was above a bicycle shop. The sheets were black. There was a bowl of condoms in the bathroom.
