Monday 25th August 2008 (pp3702-9)

Probably tired today. Wrote a fair amount though. Was hoping to write and write the night before under the influence of stimulants but just wrote an average amount.

Sunday 24th August 2008 (pp3690-701)

We took some legal ecstasy and went to the festival. It was windy and kind of bleak and the music wasn't very captivating. We wandered around, just the two of us. Saw Alastair, my boss, with his son. He was there because his brother's band were playing. Bought the Holy Fuck album. Went home. Went to the co-op on the way home. Felt extremely high and really needed a wee. She went to bed as soon as we got home pretty much. So I just stayed up and wrote and listened to the Holy Fuck album.

Saturday 23rd August 2008 (no pages written)

No words written today. My girlfriend and I considered going to the festival today but we just had a vicious argument instead. Reconciled in the evening and watched 'Son of Ranbow'.

Friday 22nd August 2008 (pp3682-9)

Wrote most of this on the way back to Brighton on the train in a notebook with goldfish on the front. I had to rush because we had a gig in the evening at Beachdown festival on the picturesque Sussex Downs. I thought it was going to be fine but the journey connections were somewhat disjunct and I ended up running across a field to get there on time.

Went back to the flat briefly to pick up my girlfriend who was extremely unenthusiastic to see me again. She had enjoyed not having me there.

Gig went quite well. Festival resembled some kind of warzone as they invariably do. We waited in the dark to be picked up by a taxi like survivors flagging down a passing helicopter. The taxi driver was playing the dub version of dark side of the moon (dub side of the moon).

Thursday 21st August 2008 (pp3668-81)

Though it may not seem like it, I was on holiday at this point. I think I was even on holiday the day before, but I didn't quite realise in time. It was in the Norfolk Broads with all of my family on the Punton side. A fleet of boats.

It was so peaceful floating through the reeds, then stopping off in quaint villages or Great Yarmouth's pleasure beach and pier. Unified as a family.

Wednesday 20th August 2008 (pp3658-67)

Bit of planning. That's always wise. I have just made a decision to write 1000 words a day of my new novel. Did it last week though it was quite a struggle. Will there be time for planning? Will the thousand words be rushed and low quality?
