On Saturday 14th July 2007, I started to write a book about an island man, by writing ten pages a day. I did it for about a year and a half, more or less. This year, 2012, starting on Saturday July 14th, I'm going to scan all these pages in day by day and post them on this blog, for what it's worth.

Let's say today was my last shift at Newhaven Fort. Everyone had signed a wartime postcard for me, wishing me luck. I still said I might be back, but got the feeling they thought it would be best if I left and moved on to new things.
