How will this new full-time job affect the writing? Will it be much harder to find time to write? Will he crack under the pressure and give up?
On Saturday 14th July 2007, I started to write a book about an island man, by writing ten pages a day. I did it for about a year and a half, more or less. This year, 2012, starting on Saturday July 14th, I'm going to scan all these pages in day by day and post them on this blog, for what it's worth.

Wednesday 26th March 2008 (pp2440-51)
I seem to be very hard on myself in the red parts. There's a bit of black, then a red part saying how pathetic I am. I think I knew at moments that I had made something of worth but it still wasn't good enough.
Later on in the day there's quite a mean bit about an overweight woman on the train. Where was I going?

And so, through a process of constant writing, we have accumulated quite a stock of characters and details. The story has grown organically, as have the people and their pasts, and they continue to grow. And demand attention and time and effort.

At some point during this early bakery period, I wrote a little thing about torturing someone by making them eat lots of yeast. I wrote it sitting in the Bystander's café near the station. Not sure where that writing is though. Might already be scanned and posted.
Sunday 23rd March (Easter Sunday) 2008 (pp2410-20)
It seems I have got the dates slightly wrong, because I remember working at the bakery on Good Friday, a particularly busy night. That doesn't matter though, this is a living blog with its own internal dialogues.
