In 2007 I went to work today. In the morning I wrote Nicola a note saying I was sorry I left her the previous night to write, that it wasn't very gentlemanly, and I left her my key. After work, I went to a café to do some writing before I went home where Nicola was waiting for me, and we could enjoy the evening without writing getting in the way.
At work I served a family who inspired what was to become one of the main storylines of the book.
