In present day, i.e. 2013, I move to a new flat with my current girlfriend. It's possible to imagine my life the day I wrote the pages below, five years ago, as a life being lived by a different person in a parallel universe, but this is not profound.

Thursday 24th April 2008 (pp2724-38)

Massive day. Must have been a day off. I must've thought if I get loads done today then I can write less over the next few days when she's away and I can watch snooker.

Wednesday 23rd April 2008 (pp2713-23)

My girlfriend went away back to Iceland for a week or so around this time. Not sure when exactly. I felt very free. I had been looking forward to it for a long time. It wasn't that I didn't want to be with her, it was just that I wanted to be on my own as well.

Tuesday 22nd April 2008 (pp2703-12)

And so the World Snooker Championship 2008 has started. It started on Saturday actually. There was a warmth of colour and shape frequently being emitted from the cathode tube in the living room, where I could sit with friends comfortable in the knowledge that everything was alright when the snooker was on.

You know, there IS a story going on underneath all this. It may look like I'm just writing vague ideas and red thinkings, but things ARE happening in the fictional realm.

Don't know what these 'blank books' could be. They must be quite small. Certainly not the A4 titans I was using. I did buy this notebook in that shop though.
