A Sunday off with the girlfriend should have been a happy time, but we argued and I left the house. I was righteously angry. I went to the university library and read books about psychology.
On Saturday 14th July 2007, I started to write a book about an island man, by writing ten pages a day. I did it for about a year and a half, more or less. This year, 2012, starting on Saturday July 14th, I'm going to scan all these pages in day by day and post them on this blog, for what it's worth.

This time of year when you're young is the end of the summer holidays. Remember that feeling of desperate boredom? Knowing you will be losing that freedom very soon, so you must make the most of it, but there's absolutely nothing to do.

In my diary from 1996 on this day: 'went down the town and got a pritt stick and a book for school.' I was on the verge of beginning Grammar School and becoming a teenager.

Have just bought a laptop to write on. The days of writing in a notebook in a café are over and it's a bit sad. But I've got work to do.
