I am in a new flat. The Wi-Fi on the scanner doesn't work anymore. The scanning program doesn't work anymore. I have to use a new one, but I think it's going to be OK.
On Saturday 14th July 2007, I started to write a book about an island man, by writing ten pages a day. I did it for about a year and a half, more or less. This year, 2012, starting on Saturday July 14th, I'm going to scan all these pages in day by day and post them on this blog, for what it's worth.

Monday 5th May 2008 (p2842)
I got the date wrong here. As I wrote my 4 lines, I got the date wrong. It was a long day at work with Alastair, my boss. I ended up staying longer and doing more than I would normally have to do if I was working with someone more teleologically focussed, shall we say.
The other day Alastair told me he would like to watch the snooker but he's 'swept along a never-ending tail-chasing road of activity'.
When I got home from my long shift, people were still up in the living room. Jack Allet was there, for one. I had resigned myself to my fate of missing the snooker final, but it was Ronnie O'Sullivan against Ali Carter so the result was a fairly forgone conclusion anyway. I was deeply tired.
Sunday 4th May 2008 (pp2835-2841)
'Writing is my enemy', 'she told me she hated me', and so on. Clearly there were other things going on.
Saturday 3rd May 2008 (pp2828-34)
In the story currently the island man is robbing a drug dealer. With great dexterity and ingenuity. On this my day off surely I got to see some of the concluding frames of the semi-finals. I feel other things were obfuscating the snooker this year.
Friday 2nd May 2008 (pp2818-27)
Impressive writing effort expended on traditionally busy Friday, on which James went to the Crucible to see Stephen Hendry play Ronnie O'Sullivan in the semi-final of the Snooker World Championships.

Thursday 1st May 2008 (pp2808-2817)
Let's say she came home today. I think it might have been a few days earlier, but it doesn't overly matter. I had a list of things I needed to do before she came back. I got flowers and fruit and stuff. I went to the airport to meet her. She wore a red dress. We were happy for a little while.
Wednesday 30th April 2008 (pp2794-807)
It's a shame because the writing on pages 2803-4 is a glittery mix of blue and pink but the scanner has not captured its elegant subtlety here.
